I know that this wasn’t an easy decision for you to make, but you faced it like you have so many other important steps. Thank you for being open to ways to keep yourself safe and keep me from worrying. As you get older, a medical alert service is a great way to make sure that you are able to live life the way you want. With me living on the West Coast, I now know that you are OK even when I’m not around.
You are the strongest person I know, and I admire you for that, and getting a little bit of help just proves how smart you are, because it doesn’t mean you are giving up – it means you want to remain independent and safer.
I know you like the fact that no one can see that you're wearing the device, but I love knowing it's there! I worry a lot less now that you can connect with someone who can get you help if anything were to happen to you. I feel a lot better about your next fishing trip with your buddies, since you’ll be wearing a pendant to keep you safe.
I know you won’t be slowing down anytime soon, so wearing a medical alert device means you don't have to. It helps you continue to do the activities you love and allows me to know that you are never out of touch and always have someone ready to help. That way, I don't have to call and nag you!!
Seriously, thank you for being open to having this conversation – we don’t know what will happen in the coming years, but I know you'll always be my hero, and I wouldn’t know what to do without you, Daddy. I'm so proud of you for always trying so hard to do the right thing.
I love you always and forever, no matter what,
